What is a broadcast or blast fax?

A broadcast fax is a fax that can be sent out using Faxaway to hundreds or even thousands of recipients at once. You don't have to tie up your fax machine by sending them one at a time. It takes just one email to reach thousands of prospects.

Apply for an individual Faxaway account using our secure online application, or we can fax you back a printed application, which you can complete and fax back to us. For businesses wishing to enable users throughout their company to use Faxaway, see our corporate solutions. Account creation takes anywhere from 24 to 48 hours upon receiving registration information, but can take up to three days if sent over the weekend.

How does Faxaway charge for its service?

There is a prepayment of $10.00 (U.S.) when you sign up for Faxaway. When you sign up with a credit card, your card is charged the $10.00 upon your account activation. Each time you send a fax we subtract the cost of that fax from this prepayment. When your balance is depleted, we “recharge” your account by charging another prepayment to your card. If you send a broadcast fax that exceeds your account balance, we will charge that amount to your card.

You may also sign up for Faxaway by mailing a check or money order for a minimum of $100.00 in US funds payable to "Faxaway". Make sure it accompanies your completed paper application that you printed out from our signup area.

How much can I save by using Faxaway?

Faxaway saves you on faxing because we charge by the minute, not by the page. Your low Faxaway rate depends on the country to which you are sending your fax. For instance, faxing to the United States is just 10˘ a minute on weekends, except Mexico, which is billed in full minute increments. Faxes are billed in six-second increments after a 1 minute minimum. Click here for a complete list of our worldwide rates.

There are no set-up fees for a Faxaway account. There is a small account maintenance charge of $1 monthly. You may allow as many as 250 email users access to your Faxaway account at no additional charge.

In the event of a busy or unanswered number, Faxaway will attempt sending your fax four times in the first 15 minutes and then 4 times an hour later. You then have the option of continuing the retry attempts for up to 10 hours. Logon to "My Faxaway" to select the number of retries you would like. Each retry is 4 attempts and they are spaced an hour apart. At the end of the retries, you will be notified of any unsuccessful transmissions. There is no charge for non-broadcast faxes that are not successfully transmitted (except voice answered calls with no fax tone).

Simply compose an email and send it to FAXNUMBER@faxaway.com. Make sure to include the country code, city or area code, and fax number. You will receive a confirmation when the fax is successfully transmitted. For example, you can send us a fax by addressing email to 12063017500@faxaway.com. In this case, the country code = 1, city code/area code = 206 and the fax number = 3017500. Need more help? Look for answers in the Faxaway User's Guide!

All faxes sent through Faxaway get a confirmation email. This email will either confirm that the fax has been sent successfully or inform you after 8 tries that it was a failure, as well as provide the reason the fax was unsuccessful.

Faxaway is compatible with most all email software including Microsoft Exchange, Eudora and Netscape Mail, as well as the mail programs of online services like America Online, CompuServe, MSN and many others. Should you need help using your email software, contact Faxaway customer support for assistance.

I have a Hotmail account. Can I use Faxaway?

Yes. Faxaway is compatible with Hotmail and all similar web-based email services. However, to sign up for a new Faxaway account using this type of email service, we require a signed paper application be mailed or faxed to us. Also, your ability to send attached documents as faxes might be affected by the limitations of your particular email service. If you need help, refer to the Faxaway user's guide or contact your email service.

On average, approximately thirty lines of text can be sent in 60 seconds, depending on the speed of the receiving fax machine and the formatting of your fax.

You can call, email or fax Customer Service with your request. The charge to process a refund is $6. This amount will be deducted from your remaining balance before it is remitted to you.
