Q:

What is Faxaway Broadcasting?

The ability to send customized faxes to multiple fax machines, using one email and an existing broadcast group.
Q:

What is a broadcast group?

A group of fax numbers (plus names if desired) used to broadcast information to. The group fax numbers and names can be converted from your existing database to Comma Delimited ASCII Text and submitted to our server via email. You are then able to create, edit and delete your groups. Once you have created your group, you can send a fax broadcast to that group at anytime.
Q:

How will I know that my group has been created or changed?

All commands sent to our server trigger a response or confirmation email. When you submit a new group or changes to an existing group to our server, a reply will be sent stating how many numbers were accepted, duplicated and those that were invalid numbers. You can also use our Interactive Commands to audit your groups.
Q:

How do I create a fax to broadcast?

There are 2 ways to create this information. Text Messaging takes the text from body of the email message sent to Faxaway, and converts it to a fax format under a generic header. If you prefer, Faxaway can install a custom letter head as a template on which all text messages sent from your e mail address will be faxed. Attached File format is available if you wish to eliminate a default cover page - Faxaway reads the attached file and converts it to a fax format, sending only the attached document. Please see the user's guide for a list of supported formats.
Q:

How do I test my documents?

We strongly recommend creating a test group that contains your own name and fax number, be submitted prior to doing any broadcast. This test group is installed ONE TIME ONLY and remains on your account until you modify or remove it. Each time you create a new document to broadcast you would send a broadcast to your own fax machine first to make sure it appears as you intended and/or to avoid any unexpected results.
Q:

How do I know if my faxes have gone through?

Faxaway will respond by email to all actions. We call these responses Confirmations. You can check the status of your broadcast with our Interactive Commands or, by accessing your account information online. Once a broadcast has been completed, you will automatically receive a confirmation report, which details the end result for each fax number of a group. Reports are in text format.
Q:

How do I personalize, or merge information from my group to my document?

Faxaway offers a unique feature that affords the merging of data to a MS Word document, using the same font and point size as the document. This feature maintains the integrity of the original document. Merge fields information is taken from the fax header. Please see the User Guide for complete details on merging names and/or fax numbers into an attached Word document.
Q:

How long does a broadcast take to send?

A comfortable transmission rate for a single page fax, is about 5,000 in 1 to 24 hours. Factors that effect the delivery time are: the receiving fax machine, the complexity of the document and overall traffic volumes on our system. (A single page MS Word document with header, logo and full page text averages 1.5 minutes transmission time).
